There are around 300 types of octopuses. They usually live in warm ocean waters. They are very smart animals.
Octopuses have eight legs called tentacles with rows of suckers on them. Their mouth is in the middle of their tentacles. They have a beak like birds that use to break open the shells of their food. They have three hearts.
Octopuses can squeeze into very small spaces because they have no backbone like all invertebrates. They can hide from predators by changing colors to camouflage themselves. They can shoot black ink can even shed off a tentacle to distract predators. Octopuses can regrow their tentacles.
